Last week I announced the Obssistant Obsidian plugin. I’m not going to continue maintaining it though, and that’s the topic that I’m starting with in this week’s newsletter…
Claudian - the plugin that killed Obssistant before it even got moving
When I was browsing the Obsidian Discord (a one-in-a-thousand occurrence in truth) a while back, I saw someone announcing that they were struggling with using a plugin.
This plugin was Claudian, and although I’d heard of it not ages ago, I’d forgotten about it and hence started building out Obssistant as something that could help me use the agent software installed on my machine a little more natively.
However, when I installed and took a look at Claudian, it was clear that this plugin was lightyears ahead of what I’d built, or was even willing to build going forward with Obssistant. More agents supported, a tidier and more visually useful interface, and a way of managing, editing and improving skills.
In short, I stand no chance developing against this plugin, and so am going back to what I’m good at - education around making good use of plugins, AI, note-taking theory and the Obsidian app in general.
This all started with PARAZETTEL V5, and will now continue into the new education that I have planned for Obssistant.
