We’re less than a week out from the release of Obsidian V5 now, so I thought I’d show you a little of what’s on your plate, whether you’re a member already or whether you’re still thinking about signing up…

This picture above shows the current draft layout for the module that’s being added to the PARAZETTEL Course from next Friday.
Inside, we’ll be explaining how you can use the add-on that we’ve built for this update, integrating Claude Code into your Obsidian vault.
It’ll help you get set up right out the box, but at the same time it’ll teach you what’s going on under the hood, so you can build the same AI configuration from scratch if you’d wish.
We start with some pre-requisites, then the main setup, finishing with some bonuses that I’ve been using personally, but aren’t required for integrating an AI agent into your Obsidian vault. Things like third-party integrations through API and MCP, and a recursive ’learnings’ loop.
There are many more complicated parts to building this update than for the update prior, so I’m focusing hard still over the next week or so, preparing to get it into your hands on time!

Remember - if you want in for the V5 update, you can purchase the bundle here right now - once I open it up to everyone, you’re going to lose the chance to purchase it for $169, and get a chance to have a personal setup call once we’re inside…

This week’s content
I’ve started sending notifications to you for new pieces of content as and when they come out, so that I can focus more on the standout piece of content in the weekend newsletter. So here’s this week’s…

Lessons From Breaking Down Obsidian's CEO's Personal Vault Template
What I learned from Steph Ango's vault, and why I'm not copying his system...
Months ago I put out a video talking about Steph Ango’s Obsidian vault, walking through it and giving raw impressions. It performed very well, and I noted this as an idea for an article in the future.
Since I recently went through it again in the Claude Code x Obsidian course, I thought I’d write said article whilst Steph’s system was still top-of-mind.
To summarise, he uses a vault very reliant on Properties and Wikilinks, rather than folders and tags, instead keeping many Bases and templates for different types of notes and relying on links across content.
It makes sense, as I discuss further in the piece, because these are simultaneously the most and least structured ways of linking information in an Obsidian vault.
Steph covers all the bases (literally)!
Other life projects
I’m still fitting in building ProseLab around creating PARAZETTEL V5, and we’re getting close to launching the app over there as well.
I’ve asked Luca, the other person involved in the project whether he wants to come to London to launch and he seems keen, so that’s going to be a great weekend out when it comes around as well.
Either way, I’ve got a lot to keep myself busy with, so that’s a good thing. If you want to follow along with all of this, I release personal updates, vlogs and thoughts over at https://substack.com/@tstowx so follow there if you’d like more.
Talk to you next week, when we’re closing out the V5 launch! I’m looking forward to it,
– Theo
