Today we’ve got a smaller issue - some new content (free and Premium), as well as a little story about where I was this weekend…
The most detailed guide to setting up a Claude Code second brain in your vault
For the last week, I’ve been previewing and then releasing a new piece of content available to PARAZETTEL Premium subscribers…

I took Steph Ango’s (Obsidian’s CEO) personal vault demo that he shares for free on the internet, and implemented the beginnings of a Claude Code second brain inside of the vault.
It served as a demonstration that building such a second brain in this way can be done in any vault, not just PARAZETTEL, and not even a vault that you necessarily know very well!
However, this video is only available to Premium members. You can upgrade if you haven’t already, and for the rest of Sunday only, until 23:59 BST, you can get 50% off of your first month of PARAZETTEL Premium, so you can easily access this video and all the other Premium content too…

What’s coming in the future?
I’ve also been brainstorming about the future and what I want from PARAZETTEL a little more seriously for the last week or so.
This is considering that I could choose to pursue ProseLab more, or start shooting photos freelance with more emphasis (I’ve been in London doing so this weekend).
Even with these other options, I still place PARAZETTEL as the clearest priority by a long way, and have been developing a more concrete roadmap, to keep myself focused and motivated…
Soon we’re going to be releasing the Claude Code add-on for the PARAZETTEL vault (as PARAZETTEL V5), so that if you would like, you only have to be a Premium member to have access to an agentic personal assistant inside of your Obsidian vault (rather than investing in the new AI-enablement offer).
We’re also considering a move to a new platform for the Premium content, timed alongside the new release of the PARAZETTEL vault, to better host our materials (videos, templates etc.) as well as integrate with the other apps in our stack.
There will be more details coming soon! After PARAZETTEL V5 though, I’m likely going to hide away for a while and finish writing the Minimal Note-Taking book, as that’s still scheduled for publication in the middle of the year!

3 Free Tiers So Good I Didn't Upgrade
And I still use all three every day...
In this one, I talk not only about Obsidian, but a few other platforms that I use for free, that I think I should be paying at least a small subscription to use — they’re that good.
It varies from video editing software to all-in-one chat apps, and of course contains Obsidian (even though I’ve technically paid to be a Catalyst license holder).
That’s all for this week! I’ve got more content planned, so look forward to a bumper roundup in next week’s issue of PZTL.
See you soon,
– Theo
