Welcome back,
I arrived in Bali yesterday, the spiritual home of digital nomads, and will be here until I head to Australia for the new year, where I’m going to prioritise lots of new content, and make focused start to 2026.
But until then, there’s one thing I’m thinking about…
Looking to the new year
2026 is just around the corner, which means this is the perfect time to review where your note-taking was a year ago, and think about how it can be used to improve your work in the new year.
Perhaps you need to have a look through your note-taking system as it is right now, and decrease the complexity.
And perhaps things are getting heavier in your various projects, and you need to start adding a little complexity in terms of functions and plugins. Do this carefully, with targeted quality-of-life improvements.
There’ll be an article and video coming out about each of these before the new year, and by reading this newsletter, you’ll be the first to know!
This week’s updates…
There’s no new content to report this week, so I’m going to take this chance to point out that you can still access the Minimal Note-Taking book pre-order…
Pre-order Minimal Note-Taking: A Guide to Simplicity in a Distracted World
And I’m working on a piece talking about my entire strategy for note-taking and knowledge management whilst I was at university, and will likely publish this before next week’s newsletter.
Right now, as well, I’m working on the Use Your Ideas course for the PARAZETTEL Community. It’s all about how you can improve how you’re making use of all the notes you’ve been taking.
We’ll cover capturing information (because useful output is impossible if the input isn’t good), the different ways to organise your ideas to help you have new ones, and some of the ways I’ve gone about actually outputting work from notes (from content creation, to academia, because some of the practical strategies differ quite a bit dependent on what kind of work you’re doing).
If you want, you can upgrade your Community membership now, and be straight in when the course launches - https://parazettel.com/community/plans.
It’s a great time to get in, not just because of the new course, but to prep yourself for a 2026 of improved note-taking and knowledge management.
It’s going to be a great year!
