They're the foundation of most of the functions in the app, so you'd better not neglect them...
And even back then, there were some good features baked into the core of Obsidian. Today though, I’m writing this article from a web browser window, actually inside the app, and when I go to my Readwise folder, I have a core plugin showing a database table with book covers of titles I’ve highlighted staring back at me.
Core plugins have gotten a lot more powerful. So I’m going to go over a few of them again today, and talk about the new additions to the core plugins lineup that have come since the last piece I wrote.
